Engaged in Maui and Married in Maui!

beach photos

Who knew October 7 and Maui could have so much meaning? Sandy and Rick did! Engagement and Marriage!!!  Plus, Maui was the place where Sandy grew up and Rick had worked for a few years. How could they marry anywhere else?   After securing the services of Hawaii wedding planner Tori Rogers of Hawaii Weddings by Tori Rogers, the wheels were set in motion for this very fabulous wedding where 60 of the couple’s closest relatives and friends gathered to celebrate the couple’s love for each other.

A Catholic Church wedding ceremony was very important to the family, so St. Theresa Catholic Church was secured. To make sure the couple benefited the most from their flower budget, the centerpieces of pink carnations mixed with baby’s breath in mason jars were hung from the church’s pews to decorate the ceremony and then moved to the reception. Wedding programs were provided for the wedding guests so they could follow along. After a flawless, heartfelt ceremony, photos were taken and a celebration was to be had!

Sugar Beach Events Pavilion was the perfect oceanfront venue for the wedding reception. The site fee includes the tables, chairs, use of the bridal suite, and some other amenities. At this location guests could enjoy cocktails and pupu’s outside, stroll the beach if they desired, and then have a fabulous dinner reception inside the pavilion that still provided an outdoor feel.

The couple’s love for travel was incorporated into the simple elegant tropical wedding theme. A custom made travel theme card box, luggage tag escort cards, a world map for guests to sign as the guest book, and guest dining tables named after places the couple has traveled were just some of the couple’s personal touches. Other details included framed photographs placed around the venue, wedding favors from the Honolulu Cookie Company (love how they kept it local!) and printed menus.

As part of Tori’s Total Package coordination package, her inventory was available to the couple to save money on decor and still have the look they wanted. Items such as gold chargers, ivory linen napkins, ivory table linens, burlap table runners, bride and grooms chair signs, and gold mercury glass votives with LED tea lights were used to decorate the reception. Tori also helped the couple save money on the flowers by ordering the flowers wholesale and making all of the centerpieces and boutonnieres.

The crafty bride and bridesmaids made their own bouquets. They looked great!

What bride doesn’t feel like a princess when making an entrance down a staircase like this one?

The couple and guests had so much fun. It was an amazing group of people who came together to celebrate with Sandy and Rick!

Polynesian entertainment during the reception gets everyone involved!
